Climate Adaptation Plan for Ghana

SEI assisted the Ghana EPA and the Ghana Climate Focal Point to develop a plan for climate change adaptation and mitigation.

The plan seeks to make Ghana's Poverty Reduction Strategy more robust by incorporating climate change impacts. SEI-US staff prepared a synthesis report for DGIS summarizing activities undertaken by the Ghana national adaptation team in their development of a national adaptation action plan.

SEI also provided training on planning techniques, including a novel approach to multi-sector planning that was developed by SEI and Ghana EPA staff and published in a peer-reviewed journal:  Kemp-Benedict, E. and Agyemang-Bonsu, W.K (2008) The Akropong approach to multi-sector project planning.  Futures vol. 40, pp. 834-840. doi:10.1016/j.futures.2008.07.014.
