SEI Contact:

Technical support for the preparation of the United Arab Emirates’ first national communication to the UNFCCC

SEI assisted the Environment Agency of the United Arab Emirates in three areas related to the preparation of its First National Communication to the UNFCCC.

These areas were:
- preparing the UAE’s greenhouse gas inventory

- developing an assessment of the vulnerability of key sectors and regions to climate variability and climate change

- developing a national strategy for introducing renewable energy and energy efficiency into national planning frameworks.

The result of these efforts was the preparation of a series of technical reports, which were used as the basis for the Initial National Communication document.
