The US-Mexico physical assessment project
US and Mexican water managers continue to be locked into a contentious water management situation that was set under the terms of the antiquated Boundary Waters Treaty between the two countries signed in the 1940s.This project is a collaboration of one university, one government research institute and one NGO from each side of the US-Mexico border.
These organisations are together developing an analytical framework, using WEAP, to explore water management innovations that could potentially diffuse the situation.
