Technical support for international climate change adaptation researchSEI provided assistance to research teams in several countries with the identification, prioritization, and characterization of options to adapt to near-term increases in climatic variability and long-terms climate change.
The programme, which is funded by the Netherlands Climate Assistance Programme (NCAP), helped to inform the debate about the development and incorporation of effective adaptation strategies into national planning dialogues.
SEI provided technical support and training in scenario development, multi-criteria analysis (MCA), logical framework analysis (LFA), and output integration to partners in Yemen, Ghana and Bolivia.
In Yemen, SEI conductied three case studies involving stakeholder consultations and integrated modeling of water resource vulnerability and adaptation strategies. For each of the case study areas, WEAP was used to develop scenarios that investigate the feasibility and impact of alternative adaptation strategies.
