This report presents the case for better engagement of older people on climate change issues in particular, and environmental issues in general.
Climate change and an ageing population will have wide ranging socio-economic and environmental impacts. Public engagement is
therefore critical to implementing policies to tackle climate change and to address the needs of an ageing population.
Older people may be physically, financially and emotionally less resilient to the effects of climate change. At the same time baby boomers are bringing higher levels of consumption to middle and later life. They currently have the highest carbon footprint of´any other age group.
