Annika Varnäs

Annika Varnäs works as a Research Fellow at SEI Stockholm with focus on sustainable consumption and production. Annika is currently on a leave of absence from SEI.

Varnäs is involved in a number of projects focusing on policies to enhance sustainable consumption and production as well as analytical tools to evaluate the environmental impact from consumption and production.

One of her main areas of interest concerns how businesses can shift to more sustainable practices. Her current work is to a great extent linked to the 3C – SEI research programme, where SEI partners with the business leaders’ initiative 3C – Combat Climate Change.

Annika is co-managing the 3C – SEI programme together with the 3C coordinator and is also involved in the first research project within the programme, focusing on policies to spur the development and deployment of new technologies.

Previously, she has worked with management of contaminated land remediation and has also studied and worked with journalism.

She has a Licentiate of Engineering degree from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) focusing on green procurement in the construction sector and an MSc in Environmental Engineering from Uppsala University.
