Matthew Savage is Senior Research Fellow at SEI, where he leads climate change support to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on behalf of the UK Foreign Office.
This project covers a range of issues, including work on vulnerabilities and adaptation, climate modelling, inventories, and national communication support.
He is an international consultant specialising in climate change and energy policy. Since 2004, he has been lead trainer for the UK Foreign office on climate change and sustainable energy issues.
He is currently the lead author on regional energy and emissions policy for the European Environment Agency State of the Environment Report. He continues to work on a number of climate change related projects for international governments and donors, including the EC, World Bank and EBRD. In the UK, he has provided expert input into the UK Climate Change Programme Review, the UK Energy Review and the Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change.
He is also director of Oxford Consulting Partners where he works on a range of public and private sector climate projects. He was previously Principal Consultant and Business Manager with AEA Energy and Environment, and energy economics research associate at the University of Sunderland. He holds higher degrees from the Netherlands Business School and the University of Oxford.
