Marika Hjälsten

Marika worked a Project Manager at SEI Stockholm from February 2011 until June 2012.  She has worked as the project leader of a High-level dialogue side event, including President Jacob Zuma, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Prof. Johan Rockström, at the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) in Durban.

At SEI, Marika has worked as the coordinator of the public and concluding day of the 3rd Nobel Laureate Symposium on Global Sustainability that was held in Stockholm in May 2011.  She had executive responsibilities mainly related to the organization of the Stockholm Dialogue on Global Sustainability: Seizing Planetary Opportunities but also as the Symposium Assistant to the Symposium Manager.

Marika has also been coordinating a joint policy seminar on Short-Lived Climate Forcers (SLCF) with the Swedish Ministry of Environment.

Past work experiences include working for the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) as a Research Associate and as a French teacher in Stockholm.

Marika graduated from Stockholm University in 2009, majoring in Political Science and International Relations.
