Role: PMEC Developer
Douglas Wang, MSc - Information Technology, joined SEI in July 2010 to develop SEI’s web-based project Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Communication system (PMEC), which is based on the theory of outcome mapping. PMEC is used throughout SEI's international centres as one of its key knowledge management platforms. Recently, a similar system is adopted by NERC-BESS.
Since 2011, he has been working on developing web-based GIS tools, including Bangalore Urban Metabolism Project (BUMP) http://www.seimapping.org/bump/ and Targeting Outscaling tool for a CPWF project. Spatial/mapping data are visualized using thematic colouring in combination with Google Charts API. Users can view the latest research results simply and interactively through a web browser.
He also developed a prototype of java-based desktop program - UK/Multi-regional input-output integrated hybrid LCA carbon calculator.
