As SEI’s Financial Director, Bohumil is responsible for the finances of the SEI Foundation (Stiftelsen The Stockholm Environment Institute, org. No. 802014-0763), which is the hub of SEI’s operations, as well as for funds utilized in other parts of SEI’s global organization.

Bohumil has managed finances for a range of commercial enterprises, both large and small, as well as for multinational companies and government institutions. However, his managerial experience extends well beyond the financial field to building and managing organizations, subsidiaries and project teams, often in multinational environment. He has always defended the principles of transparency and accountability in his work.

His long career includes spells at The Government Committee for Energy Research (DFE/Energiforskningsnämnden), Preem/Svenska Petroleum Exploration AB, and Sandvik Steel AB. He gained his technical and financial education in the Czech Republic, receiving a Dipl. Engineer in Industrial Economy from The University of Economics, Prague (Vysoká škola ekonomická v Praze).
