
Oskar's specializes in urban and regional planning and development. He is particularly interested in environmental management, sustainability concerns and the links between spatial strategies and environmental performance.
Lately he has widened his scope to also address questions relating to adaptation to climate change, as a researcher within the Mistra-Swecia program on climate change, impacts and adaptation.
Oskar has carried out a numbed of substantial consultancy assignments developing strategies and approaches for sustainability planning in regional and urban development. He is the lead consultant in sustainability matters in SEI’s work for the Stockholm Office of Regional Planning (previously: RTK). During 2007-9 he managed the strategic environmental assessment of the regional development plan (RUFS 2010) and he also wrote the impact assessment chapter of the last consultation version of the plan.
In Mistra-Swecia, Oskar coordinates the cross-program case studies (Stockholm region 2008-9, Forestry sector 2009-10). His research is focused on the integration of adaptation policies and measures in municipal structure planning (“översiktsplanering”), using the Stockholm region as a case.
Previously, Oskar participated in various assignments in the water area drawing on a variety of methods and techniques. During 2004-7 he led SEI's participation in the Rivertwin project, developing water demand models applied in drainage basins in Germany, Uzbekistan and Benin.
