Jacqueline Senyagwa

Jacqueline Senyagwa is a Research Fellow at SEI Africa. She has more than 10 years of experience in the area of energy and development in the African continent, with a special focus on bioenergy. She has worked in areas of climate change adaptation, environmental assessment, and conservation issues. Recently, she has been engaged in urban transportation and air quality research which have strong links to energy and development as well as community engagement science and practice.

Jacqueline has previously worked on a number of projects ranging from Natural resources and environmental management, sanitation, climate change and energy: SEI bioenergy initiatives in West Africa and Eastern Africa, Household energy in East and Central Africa, Climate change adaptation in East Africa. She is now involved in the Air Quality Monitoring Baseline Project in Dar es Salaam.

Previously, she worked with HakiElimu Tanzania as a Programme Officer in the citizen engagement unit, advocating for policy changes in the education sector, and as a field officer with CARE International –Tanzania in the CARE Readership project.

Jacqueline has an MSc. In Natural Resources Assessment and Management from the University of Dar es Salaam and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences and Management from the Sokoine University of Agriculture in Tanzania. She is currently a PhD student at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
