Environmental policy

The aim of the SEI environmental policy is to carry out our work as sustainably as possible, aiming to minimize our own negative impact on the environment.

This includes aspects such as reducing our carbon footprint by switching to more environmentally friendly modes of travel and using video conferencing and other communication technologies wherever possible.

We also aim to reduce waste, energy and water consumption in our office buildings. The owner of SEI’s Stockholm Centre premises, Vasakronan, is in the process of installing solar panels on the roof of the office building in Stockholm. Vasakronan has a gold rating according to the rating system LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). LEED is an international rating system which classifies buildings according to energy efficiency, waste management, infrastructure and management.

Travel and CO2 emissions are being monitored by all centres. In 2015, SEI Foundation flights totalled just over 3.2 million km, with the release of ~530 tonnes CO2e.
