ECOSANLAC II: Resource Oriented Sanitation in Latin America

The main objective of ECOSANLAC II is to intensify the discussion which took place in Latin America in recent years about the new technologies to expand the coverage and sustainability of sanitation systems.

The conference will focus on topics already covered earlier in ECOSANLAC I, held in Fortaleza (Brazil) in 2007, such as the use of waterless sanitation systems and recycling of nutrients in excreta and its use in agriculture, but also intends to carry out a specific approach on the use of several types of resources (water, energy and nutrients) in the modern sanitation systems. Legislation aspects, master plans, management of new ecological sanitation systems, equipment for alternative sanitation systems and training of human resources will be the subject of intense debate, in a structure-based roundtables themes with interaction of all participants.

An important space will be devoted to dissemination of experiences or cases at real scale on the continent, with the participation of panelists from  different countries stimulating the scientific communications by oral and panel presentations by leading experts of diverse themes.
