Climate Change Capacity and Development (C3D+)

This collaborative project brings together partners from developed and developing countries to build capacity on climate change.

SEI has been working closely with ENDA Tiers Monde, CSAG at the University of Cape Town, UNITAR, CIFOR, Mind, IISD, and the SPREP. SEI's involvement during the first two years of the project focused on capacity-building activities around climate risk communication and using climate information in adaptation planning. This third year, SEI is partnering with CSAG, CIFOR and ENDA TM in the implementation of two user-labs, which seek to advance the development, refinement and cross-linkages between weADAPT and the Climate Information Portal (CIP), while working in the context of specific climate change adaptation projects in developing countries.

Highlights from the project include two very successful Winter School courses held at the University of Cape Town, training carried out with ENDA in Senegal, guidance for development practitioners on the process of risk communication, technical support of community-based adaptation projects, training modules for climate risk communication and adaptation planning, the weADAPT-CIP user journeys, and the revision of tools to support adaptation decision-making. We are also working to share information between partners using the Adaptation Layer in weADAPT.
