CURB-AIR refers to Clean Development Mechanisms and urban air pollution. The project built up partnerships enhancing synergies in urban air and health in Kyoto Protocol mechanisms.

Through NGOs and research institutes in Bangalore, Jinan, Bangkok and Jakarta, the CURB-AIR project works with urban and national governments to realise possibilities for maximising synergies between CDM and air quality.

The project was co-ordinated by the Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands and in 2008 SEI submitted two reports:

- Generic literature survey on air quality in urban environments of four Asian cities
- Review of policy in air quality management in four Asian cities.
