Baltic Compass - Solutions for Agriculture and Environment

The Baltic Compass project aimed to reduce eutrophication through  win-win solutions within agriculture and environment. Authorities, institutions and interest organisations from 9 riparian countries worked together towards efficient and adapted policies, decision support for land use and more attractive agro-environment support schemes to reduce eutrophication.

SEI Tallinn was working together with partners from Finland, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden to increase legitimacy for adaptive governance processes in agri-environmental policy development. The focus of SEI Tallinn and its partner organisations was put on the analysis of European Union Water Framework Directive and River Basin Management Plans to study their role in limiting diffuse pollution load from agriculture. 5 country reports and the summary report together with recommendations were published.
