The national action plan for environmental management systems 2012-2020

The aim with the national plan is to compile the action plan for promoting the use and implementation of environmental management tools (environmental management systems – EMAS, ISO 14001, ecolabels, green public procurement, green office etc).

Project activities involve:

  • an overview of the current situation of the environmental management systems in Estonia and in Europe both in public and in private sector;
  • an action plan for environmental management systems 2012-2020 has to include:
  1. goals and indicators for implementing EMAS in private sector and in national institutions (including local governments);
  2. governmental measures and presumable results for private sector for implementing environmental management tools;
  3. governmental measures and presumable results for national institutions (including local governments) for implementing environmental management tools;
  4. the goals for national institutions and local governments for implementing environmental management tools;
  5. connection between above presented measures with other national strategic documents and action plans;
  6. the cost of the presented measures, who will implement the measures, how long is the implementation period.
