Knowledge and capacity development for the Comahue region in Neuquén, Argentina

This project aims to build a strong base of evidence on adaptation options to safeguard water resources and to inform decision-makers about the most effective use and targeting of climate change funding, consistent with the goals of the three-year Adaptation Research Initiative in Latin America and the Caribbean (ARI-Americas).

In particular, the study will help identify the most appropriate technologies and practices to meet the needs of local residents, especially the rural poor; improve the management of water and land resources; and ensure proper access to them. It will examine measures to address the reduced availability of groundwater due to salinization and contamination, as well as options to diversify water sources and store water, among others.
