Ecological Budget

Ecological Budget UK provides a much needed evidence base to better understand sustainable consumption and production.

By providing the most compreshensive analysis yet attempted at a national level it track materials, CO2 and the Ecological Footprint though every form of production and consumption in the UK economy by industrial sector, geographical area and socio-economic group.

This helps us to to understand the connection between our lifestyles, the goods and services that underpin them and the the pressures associated with material, energy and resource use.

The Resources and Energy Analysis Programme (REAP), was a further output of Ecological Budget UK. This software programme methodology underpins the three Counting Consumption reports.

Ecological Budget UK was jointly fulfilled by WWF-UK, the Stockholm Environment Institute and teh Centre of Urban and Regional Ecology at Manchester University.

Project funder is Biffaward.
