Society is faced with the challenge of changing climate. Knowledge needs to be translated into action for measures to come about. Informal learning between individuals and groups and between different levels of society is a crucial basis for bringing about the necessary change.
One of Mistra Swecia’s tasks is to investigate the role that social learning can play in building capacity for adaptation to climate change. In particular, the focus is on questions such as:
Can arenas for social learning help to develop knowledge about, build capacity for, and strengthen engagement in adaptation to climate change? Can stakeholders change their behaviour and work towards better strategic adaptation, and if so, how? Does social learning lead to greater adaptive capacity to climate change in the longer term?
