Title: Communications Coordinator
Expertise: Communications, resource and ecosystems governance, Mekong region
Rajesh Daniel joined SEI’s Asia Centre in August 2013 as communications coordinator. He is a writer, researcher and filmmaker with more than 15 years of experience on issues of natural resources governance in Southeast and the Mekong Region.
He has published a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, newspapers, and co-edited books on environment and development issues. He is co-editor of the book Governing the Mekong: Engaging in the Politics of Knowledge (SIRD, 2013).
Rajesh has done a number of short and feature length documentary films on ecology and natural resources management. He scripted and filmed “The Mekong – Grounds of Plenty”, a 47 min. documentary film highlighting the Mekong region's fisheries, markets and ways of livelihood. Produced in 2013, it was filmed in numerous locations across the four Lower Mekong Basin countries.
His special areas of interest are environmental management, rural livelihoods, upland communities, policy engagement and knowledge systems, and resources governance.
He holds a Masters degree in Science and Development Communication from C-DIT, University of Kerala, India.
