    Harald Överholm is an SEI Associate, based in Sweden, and affiliated with SEI Stockholm.


    Harald Överholm holds a PhD in Engineering and Management from the Institute of Manufacturing, a part of the Engineering Department at the University of Cambridge. His thesis focused on how new business models and financing solutions can increase the diffusion pace of clean energy technologies. The results of the study have been published as peer-reviewed articles in Technovation, Journal of Cleaner Production and Energy Policy.

    Harald is currently a working co-founder of Eneo, a company providing solar panels and ground-source heat pumps through a service business model to real-estate owners. Eneo received the Climate Solver award from the WWF in 2013. Harald was previously an Investment Director at Sustainable Technologies Fund, a Nordic venture capital fund backed by a group of Swedish pension funds, focused on investing in cleantech companies.

    Harald has advised the Swedish Government, the Swedish Energy Agency and the World Wildlife Fund on matters related to clean technology diffusion and financing. He has also been a guest lecturer on clean technology diffusion at the Royal Institute of Technology, the University of Stockholm and Darden School of Business. Harald is a deputy board member of the Solar Energy Association of Sweden, and a member of the International Energy Agency’s workgroup on the impact of solar energy on utilities.

    In addition to his PhD, Harald holds an MSc in Industrial Engineering of Energy Systems from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, a BSc in International Relations focused on Energy Security from the University of Stockholm, and is an alumnus of the Swedish Armed Forces Language Institute.
