    Anne Nyambane is a Research Associate at the SEI Africa Centre, with four years experience in energy related research in developing countries. She also has experience on policy transfer processes in relation to renewable energy technologies.

    Anne’s research interests lie on the links between sustainable energy and ecosystem services at household and policy levels. She is also keen on exploring the role of bio-economy in developing countries’ economies and on how to foster such transitions. Anne joined SEI Africa in August 2014 as UK’s Ecosystem Service for Poverty Alleviation Capacity Strengthening Research Fellow.

    Anne holds Master of Science Degree in Environmental Science from Kenyatta University, where her dissertation analyses demand and supply dynamics of fuelwood in schools in Kenya. She also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Nairobi.

    Prior to joining SEI, Anne was a postgraduate intern within the Division of Environmental Policy Implementation (DEPI) at United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi. She also worked as a Research Assistant with Industrial Ecology Institute on a United Nation Development Programme-funded project on energy efficient institutional cookstoves.
