Title: Communications Officer
Role: Communications node for SEI Africa
Sarah joined the Africa Centre in February 2015 as communications officer.
Her interests are in communication on environmental issues, liaison and information management both at national and international spheres.
As the communication node for the Africa Centre, Sarah’s main responsibilities include developing a communications plan for the centre, acting as a liaison in engagement with partners, and managing production, publication and dissemination of information and communication materials.
She comes with 8 years’ experience working in communications for international organizations and governments. Before she joined SEI Africa, she worked as communications officer for the Economics of Land Degradation (ELD) Initiative Secretariat under the GIZ. She has also served as an events and outreach coordinator for the United Nations Environment Programme/The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (UNEP/TEEB) and as Liaison Officer to the German Presidency to the Convention on Biological Diversity Conference of Parties (CBD CoP 9) at the Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
Sarah holds a B.A. in communication and media technology and an M.A in global political economics, specializing on environmental issues and poverty eradication.
