Magnus Land worked as Research Fellow at SEI Stockholm with the Mistra Council for Evidence-based Environmental Management (EviEM).
Magnus has worked with the Mistra EviEM project since its start in 2012, at that time hosted by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
He is responsible for conducting Systematic Reviews and Evidence Overviews on various environmental management topics. In addition to searching for and reviewing scientific and grey literature, this includes stakeholder involvement, management of research teams, and communication activities.
Magnus graduated at Luleå University of Technology in 1998. His Ph.D. thesis focused on chemical weathering processes and mobility of heavy metals and Rare Earth Elements (REEs) in soil and groundwater. He was a post-doctoral scholar at California Institute of Technology in 1999-2000 and subsequently a research scientist at the Department of Geology and Geochemistry, Stockholm University, in 2000-2006.
Magnus has also worked in the private sector as an environmental consultant with WSP, a global engineering consultant firm. At WSP he conducted environmental risk assessments and advised clients on the feasibility of mitigation methods for contaminated areas, especially contaminated sediments and groundwater.
