    Mbeo Ogeya is a Research Fellow at SEI Africa. Mbeo has over 8 years’ research experience in renewable energy technologies, with extensive skills in engineering design, solar photovoltaic, biomass energy, small hydropower design and energy efficiency. He has worked as an energy consultant, mentor and national policy advisor.

    Mbeo has a special interest in demand and supply side energy management, local innovations in energy technologies and energy systems design and modelling. His research seeks to address energy trends and associated flows across all levels of production, distribution and utilization, from micro to macro systems.

    Prior to joining SEI, Mbeo worked with Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute, KCIC Consulting and as a consultant with Practical Action East Africa. His core responsibilities included proposal formulation, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of renewable energy projects. On cross cutting issues, he champions gender mainstreaming in energy and development and is a member of ENERGIA Kenya Network, currently serving as the ENERGIA Network Kenya Board secretary. Moreover, he is a founding member of the professional body, Association of Energy Professionals East Africa, the local chapter of Association of Energy Engineers, which promotes capacity building amongst energy practitioners for sustainable development.
