    Stefanie Chan joined the SEI Stockholm Centre in June 2017 as a Research Associate in the Societal Transitions Unit.


    Stefanie is currently working with Sustainable Lifestyles and Education under the UN’s 10YFP (the 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production).

    Stefanie is from Singapore, but has been based in Paris for the last four years. In a previous life, she graduated cum laude in law from Singapore Management University, was called to the Singapore Bar in 2012, and worked as a junior lawyer in a commercial litigation firm. Thereafter, she moved to Paris to study French at the Sorbonne and completed her Master's degree at Sciences Po’s Paris School of International Affairs, with concentrations in Environment and Energy.

    Stefanie has previously worked on the 10YFP for one year during an internship at WWF-France, as well as on a COP22 side-event on the Moroccan and Tunisian Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) with the Institut du développement durable et des relations internationales (IDDRI) in Paris. She has also worked as an affiliate researcher with Princeton University's Innovations for Successful Societies on case studies focusing on development in Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire.

    Stefanie recently completed an internship with the Climate and Clean Air Coalition at UN Environment in Paris, which focuses on reducing short-lived climate pollutants.
